The "Parts-Bin" B58 build! FBO + Port Injection + Stage 2 DAW Turbo
What started out as another B58 Full Build, ended up being one of our most challenging projects over the last 10 years. Combining our BMW experience and expertise from multiple generations and working with Jake from Motiv Motorsport, we got this "BMW Parts Bin" 640i GT up to over 500hp.
During the transition of generations, BMW, and other manufacturers as well, end up putting parts and software from both the previous and the upcoming/current generation. Some of these models on this cusp have been affectionately called "parts bin" cars, and this 640i GT with a 1st generation B58 and multiple other parts, modules, and programming from both the F-series and the G-series was a good exercise in our diagnoses skills and innovation.
Having taken this BMW B58 to the limit with all of the supporting mods and upgrades, we were glad to work with the manufacturers like PFS, Motiv Motorsport, and Cary Jordan to all tackle something none of us have seen and/or expected.

Where can I find that hood?
Definitely prefer the hub on this compared to 777 hub but then I prefer the steering wheel option with 777 🥲 for my fk8
You can preset climate control to suit, I live East coast always start the car remote, set by phone
When will the gen 1 t51 mod be avaliable?
I have it on my Supra. It’s awesome and sucks. Awesome bc you hear it all the time. Everybody will be looking at you (if that’s what you want). Sucks bc the sound does not go away. It’ll take a while to get use to it. But on the highway, it’s gonna be whistling nonstop

Yes only for stock turbo, n55+ and pure500
1300$ and labor to change the sound god damn might as well upgrade the turbo instead

How do you do a t51r mod on a stock turbo?
RSR machines the compressor housing. They have ready made cores so they just swap the housing. If you’re local they can do it in a day.

@@Cmanns05if you can’t do this simple work on your own you shouldn’t be modding anything on your car. They literally show you exactly what to do, and Kies has a step by step vid on removing the entire turbo unit…

Yes, always check both oil and coolant levels. It shouldn’t go down drastically, but yes, you will lose some coolant, but much less oil. 🤙🏻
